CSI 002-65-02 is highly specific for the low-calcium conformation of thrombospondin. There is no evidence for
cross-reactivity with other connective tissue proteins (vitronectin, fibronectin, elastin, collagen, laminin). CSI 002-65-02 cross-reacts with human thrombospondin. Other species have not been tested.
CSI 002-65-02 has been successfully used in ELISA, Immunohistochemistry and Immunoprecipitation procedures.
CSI 002-65 can also be used to probe for the low-calcium conformation of thrombospondin.
The CSI 002-65-02 epitope is only present in thrombospondin prepared with low levels of calcium.
NOTE: Concentration is lot-dependent and can vary from 0.85-1.15 mg/mL
Thrombospondin is a protein from platelet a-granules. It is made up of three identical subunits bound by interchain disulfides. It is secreted at sites of platelet activation and aggregation and is involved in the processes of chemotaxis, adhesion, proliferation and differentiation of leukocytes, fibroblasts, smooth muscle and endothelial cells.
